About Camp

WELS Camp Jefferson is a Christian summer camp located just outside of Fairbury, Nebraska, that is associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Usually occurring in mid-late July, WELS Camp Jefferson offers two separate camps: a youth camp, for children entering third through eighth grades, and a teen camp, for young adults entering high school through age 19. Both camps provide fun and fellowship in a safe, Christ-centered environment.

The camp is staffed by dedicated volunteers, who direct the camp activities under the leadership of the Camp Director.WELS Camp Jefferson is located at the Camp Jefferson campground south of Fairbury, NE. For more information on the history of the campground, visit the Camp Jefferson Campground webpage.

Youth Camp

Youth Camp is a Christ centered and fun-filled weekend of crafts, activities and Bible Study. Campers are split into ages groups (3rd -8th grade) during the days activities and then all brought together in the evening for games and fellowship. At night, campers stay in cabins according to their ages along with their respective counselors. Sunday concludes with a worship service, which begins at 10am, followed short performances of the different age groups. Prior to worship, parents and family are welcome to join us for brunch with the campers.
We welcome adults, and those in high school, to sign up as volunteers. Assisting as a counselor, aiding in the kitchen, supervising games and activities, as well as bringing an instrument to add to our worship are all things that help make camp run smoothly. Those with the proper training and certifications can also volunteer as a lifeguard or nurse. If you have a child attending camp but wish to give them some space, you can request to assist with a different age group.
